Adult disposable pulse oximetry sensors for CSI oximeters feature a patented contour C-shape to ensure that placement on the digit is easy and accurate. Additionally, a unique 3M Micro foam tape is soft and very pliable aiding in fit and providing a significant improvement in patient comfort while the tape allows the sensor to be easily moved and quickly reapplied to the patient. This allows one SpO2 sensor to travel with the patient from anesthesia induction through recovery to the ICU if necessary and provides the hospital with substantial cost savings. As a comparison, the tape on most other disposable oximeter sensors tears easily or loses its adhesiveness resulting in the need to replace it when reapplication is required.

The attached sensor cable is terminated with a keyed DB-9M connector. Extension cables can attach directly to this connector.
